Renee Lindberg
Classes: Step Interval, Double Step, Young at Heart, Powerflex, Yoga
Bio: As an Army Brat and now wife, things are always changing for Renee, however, one thing has remained
constant: fitness. At a young age, Renee saw team sports as a way to form friendships as the “new girl”, never
realizing the many benefits gained from staying active and competitive, such as confidence and responsibility. In
college, she found herself in the gym using strength training and aerobics as a way to maintain her jean size, and
again, never realizing the benefits she reaped, like stress relief, high energy and good health. After having
children, Renee found herself back in the gym, as an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal
Trainer and, with the knowledge she has gained though her studies, certifications and training groups and
individuals, she now realizes the many benefits of having a healthy body and mind. She has seen countless
individuals find friendships – and even jobs - in gym settings, and others feel a sense of accomplishment when
losing weight, gaining strength and finally conquering a difficult Yoga pose, push-up or race. Medically, Renee has
seen how fit bodies and minds can eliminate prescribed medications, overcome injuries, maintain independence
and reduce stress and depression. Renee is humbled to have a career in this industry and her goal is to show
others how fitness is more than just an hour in the gym – it is a lifestyle!

Cheryl Murra
Classes: Get Up and Step, Step and Stuff
Bio: When I joined a health club in Kansas City on Halloween ’87, I had no idea how much a part of my life
“working out” would become! I transferred that membership to Amarillo, TX when I moved there in 1988, and then
transferred it again when I married and moved to St. Joseph, MO in Aug. of 1990. Step classes began in St. Joe at
Alice’s Energy Connection in early part of 1992, and I was hooked!!! My husband changed jobs in May 2000, and
we moved outside of Weston Dec. 31, 2001. Due to the kindness of the owners of Alice’s and the Leavenworth
Energy Connection at that time, I was allowed to “split” my membership and paid each club half the money and
was able to go to either club! I continued to drive the 30 min. to St. Joe a couple of times a week as I still attend
church up there. I began teaching Step at Alice’s Energy Connection in Feb. 2004, but continued to “just” attend
classes in Leavenworth. Attending others’ classes is where I get almost ALL of my ideas for combinations! In Aug.
of 2006, Donna and Cheryl asked if I would consider teaching the 5:30a.m. class that I had attended for years, so I
did! Just in case you don’t know me, I have “knee” issues, so my class is very “knee friendly”! If you appreciated a
good, hard Step work-out please join me on a Wed. or Fri. at 5:30A.M.!!!
Vanessa Jackson
Classes: Step & Abs
Bio: As a Christian I have learned that I am to honor God in every area in my life including with my body (1
Corinthians 6:19,20). That’s when the Lord led me to Lee’s Gym for what I thought was a trial phase in my life with
a free month membership I won in a silent auction. I prayed about it and promised God that I would work hard for
one month and hope to “get in shape”. Breathing heavy and sweating was not my idea of fun but then I thought I
might try to take a step class. Hooked after the first attempt, the music was fun and the class went so fast that I
forgot that I was actually exercising. Step aerobics is certainly challenging but with the encouragement and support
received from the staff and members I kept trying. Within one year of joining Lee’s I received my AFAA Personal
Trainer Certification and started instructing my own step class on Wednesday nights. Step aerobics is a great way
to get a good cardio work out without becoming board or felling like you are killing yourself with repetitious moves. I
had realized that God wanted me to encourage others to live a healthy lifestyle and make it a lifelong commitment.
My hope is that you will be inspired to allow the Lord to change you from the inside out while gaining health and a
desire for taking care of your temple.
Yours truly through Jesus Christ,
Vanessa Jackson
Amy
Classes: Let’s Dance
Bio: Amy was born and raised in Leavenworth. She currently teaches "Let's Dance" and is an Herbalife Wellness
Coach. Amy has sixteen years of dance background and began teaching ballet, tap, jazz, and Hip Hop at
seventeen to children 3 to 6 years old. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful husband of 11 yrs and two
beautiful children, ages 9 & 5. Amy’s passion is photography and feels most relaxed with a camera in hand. It is
said of her that, "she not only captures a moment but steals it’s soul." Amy also loves sleep because she just
doesn’t get enough!
Amy’s testimony on Lee’s Fitness and Nutrition: I came to Lee's in October 2007 I was a lost soul. When I walked in
I felt more welcome than I had ever felt in any other place. Lee's was one big family, where everyone had my best
interest at heart. I was 198 pounds, had horrible debilitating migraine headaches and felt tired all the time. In
November 2007 I signed up for the 12 week Fit 4 Life program. It was worth it. I believe our lives consist of several
puzzle pieces, sometimes the piece just fits and sometimes we have to work at finding the right piece. My personal
trainer, Cheryl was a Godsend. She led me down a path I never thought I would go down; not only physically, but
spiritually. She helped me to not only focus on my health, but also on my spiritual being. I learned that I had to get
my mind in the right place before anything else would follow. Once I started to walk my spiritual path to health,
everything else started to fall into place.
I started on the Herbalife products in January 2008. These products are amazing. My energy levels increased, my
headaches were less. The Herbalife nutrition products gave my body exactly what it needed to lose weight. I
started to lose weight the very first week. Within two weeks I noticed a difference in my skin and hair. From January
2008 to September 2008 I lost 50 pounds on the Herbalife products going from a size 18 to a size 8. My energy
level was amazing. I became a Herbalife distributer in February 2008 because of the response I was getting from
everyone around me. 15 pounds lost and people started to notice. I never realized how many people felt that same
way I did before the products. It was amazing to be able to help them. I wanted everyone to feel as good as I did.
Every day I remind myself that the LORD loves each and everyone of us. He has created a path for use to follow: if
we listen He will lead. Without the wonderful women at Lee's
